Steps to Facilitating a BLS Class

  1. Students fill out sign-in sheet (page 2 of Roster)

  2. Briefly state what you are going to review in class

  3. Start the video and follow the lesson plan

  4. Make sure students have adequate time to practice until they are comfortable with the mannequins and steps to CPR.

  5. Begin scenarios: Adult, Infant

  6. Review Choking in Adult and infant

  7. Adminster Exam

  8. All forms must be uploaded in enroll ware

    ** If doing hands-on Skills (heartcode). Complete all steps except choking review and exam. Student MUST bring certification verifying completion of online modules.

    Steps to Performing BLS

    1. Verify the scene is safe

    2. Tap the victim and shout to check responsiveness

    3. if no response - Yell for help (or call 9-1-1)

    4. Check for beathing and for a pulse.

    5. If no pulse or breathing, immediately begin CPR within 10 seconds

    6. Continue CPR until help arrives

    7. If AED arrives, turn it on FIRST and follow the prompts

Steps to Facilitating a Heartsaver (CPR& First Aid)

  1. Students fill out sign-in sheet (page 2 of Roster)

  2. Briefly state what you are going to review in class

  3. Start the video and follow the lesson plan

  4. Make sure students have adequate time to practice until they are comfortable with the mannequins and steps to CPR.

  5. Begin scenarios: Adult, Infant, or Child (based on the training they signed up for)

  6. Review and Observe First Aid techniques

  7. NO Exam (unless requested)

  8. All forms must be uploaded in enrollware.

Steps to Performing Heartsaver CPR

  1. Verify the scene is safe

  2. Tap the victim and shout to check responsiveness

  3. if no response - Yell for help (or call 9-1-1)

  4. Check for beathing. *

  5. If no breathing, immediately begin CPR within 10 seconds

  6. Continue CPR until help arrives

  7. If AED arrives, turn it on FIRST and follow the prompts

Steps to Facilitating an ACLS Class

*Prior to class, the student must complete the online ACLS Precourse.

*The student must has an active BLS certification

  1. On the day of class, the students must sign in on the roster

  2. Watch the video

  3. Take a break

  4. Practice BLS on the mannequin

  5. Practic Airways skills on the intubation mannequin

  6. Watch the Megacode video

  7. Explain you exceptions for the megacode

  8. Begin the megacode. Each student must play the role of the leader.

  9. Administer the exam after the megacode
